Installation
Hardware
- Motherboard: MSI 890GXM-G65
- Processor: AMD Phenom X4 980 BE (3,7 GHz)
- CPU-cooler: Noctua NH-D14
- Graphic card: AMD Radeon HD 6870
- Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws 2*2 GB DDR3 2000 CL9
- PSU: Antec High Current Gamer 520 W
- HDD: Seagate 7200.11 250 GB

The installation can be a bit tricky on small cases, and to help this Silverstone has given the TJ08-E a removable motherboard tray and also a removable roof that comes off by removing six screws. Getting a clear access to all sides of the case helps a LOT.

The case supports all graphic cards up to 13,25" in length, but has a bit more strict limitation for the PSU-length. The recommended maximum length is 160 mm, and the maximum 180 mm, which meant we couldn't use the Xigmatek 1200 W beast we usually do. Instead we opted for an Antec High Current Gamer 520 W unit, that's exactly 160 mm long. Installing a PSU is very easy and can be done either way around. The roof also offers a dust filter for the PSU fan, so it won't suck in too much dust.

On the hard drive cage there is a soft lining to prevent vibrations from causing any rattles, but this isn't as effective method as the silicon grommets used in many other cases, as the hard drive mounting screws are still directly in contact with the cage.

Also the Noctua NH-D14 proved to be incompatible with the case, and we had to remove the front 120 mm fan in order to make it fit. If it wasn't for the huge power supply and cooler, the installation would have been easy enough, but these components caused some extra headaches. A single-tower type air cooler, or a closed loop water cooler would be a better choice for this case.

Due to the layout the front panel headers were on the top of the motherboard, and most of the cables were hidden in the unused 5,25" bays, so there was very little cables to be seen behind the motherboard tray.
