The HDT comes very well packed and beside the heatsink the bundle contains: 120 mm fan, mounting hardware for AM2 and S775 motherboards, a fan adapter to power the fan from normal peripheral connector, a bag of thermal paste, an user's manual, four rubber pins for mounting the fan and a airflow-director that can be used to improve the cooling of parts around the CPU socket. Modern motherboards can adjust the fan speeds on their own, so there's really no need for a manual fan controller anymore. Some users may still like adjusting the speed by hand, but for the rest of us a controller would only increase the cost of the cooler.
The mounting pins used on S775 motherboards are easily mounted to the base using two machine screws. As the model name tells, the HDT-S1283 features a 12 cm fan and is a pretty large cooler. Sideways the width is 120 mm and the height is 159 mm, but even with the fan, the depth with the cooler is under 8 cm. The lowest fin is 35 mm from the base, so compability issues shouldn't exist on most of the motherboards. As for the outlooks, the HDT uses a traditional tower-design without extra fanshrouds or such. The colorful non-sleeved fan wire may not please someone's eye.
