The following video will go through every aspect of the PocketCinema V10's menu structure. As you will find out, it is not that difficult and one can learn using it very easily. You will also see what the image quality is like when watching a video and still images.
Note! As the video is hosted by Youtube and gets scaled/decoded/encoded couple of times in the process, thus the colors may appear bit flat and the image bit more grainy than they would in real life.
Conclusion
For a first generation product the PocketCinema V10 is a great unit. Sure, the brightness is not quite there yet but this is something that will improve over time. It is quite interesting that manufactuers leaped from those large projectors directly to the palm sized ones. They knew that the image would not be as usable as with the projectors that operate with regular lamps. Technology demo? Perhaps but the end result is still pretty fun to play with and it gives real value to the money. Would I buy one myself? Perhaps not. It is nice to play with V10 and people around you will surely notice you and the projector but for me this is not enough. But with current price of around 300 euros (380 dollars) here in Finland, there will be market for these. Sales people can have mini meetings with this mini projector, one may want to entertain the fellow students at the school or spice up those intimate moments with that special someone. As the truly portable aspect of projectors is totally new concept, the benefits from this technology are just being invented. Want to be one of the first to play with this technology? There are number of possibilities:
- The cable on the computer side isn't connected properly - wiggle it and see if it makes a difference
- Driver issue - see if the driver allows you to select the operation mode of the TV-out between the NTSC and PAL. See which one works.
