1200 - Twelve Hundred
The 1200 is the one of the newcomers that appears to follow the 900's footsteps more closely. Right out of the box one can see the modular front panel with grand total of twelve 5,25" drive bays and the roof with a massive 200 mm fan. On the side panel there's a large window and also a mesh designed to help keep the graphic card(s) cool. Unfortunately on our test sample it seems that the cardboard box containing the bundle has got loose during the shipping and has actually made a couple of scratches to the acryl on the window.
The bundle of the 1200 contains four reuseable zip ties, a mounting bracket and front bezel for an external 3,5" drive, a bag of screws and also a manual that doesn't show on this image. The screw set is a rather weird one as there's a load of very long screws included. In twelve hundred these long screws are used on the HDDs, we'll see later on how this works.
The front- and roof panels of the Twelve hundred follow very closely the theme set by the Nine Hundred. On the shaped roof panel there is a massive 200 mm fan and a specially designed top accessory tray for people who like to keep MP3 Players or other stuff on the roof of their cases. The front panel connections are located at the sloped corner of the case and are very convenient to use if the case is located on the floor. The connections are: two USBs, e-SATA, headphones and microphone in.
On the rear one can see the card slots, power supply mounting hole, two holes for water cooling hoses, two 120 mm exhaust fans and also the fan controllers. There are switches for the speeds of the two rear fans and the main exhaust fan on the top and also a switch for the lights on the 200 mm beast. The switch is a great little extra from Antec as not everyone wants to have the leds glowing all the time.
