IntroUSB Flash Memory storage devices are very common these days. They are easy to carry around and they offer relatively large storage capacity for their physical size. While it is great to carry around gigabytes worth of data; being those mp3 files, movies, games or documents from work, you would not want to lose the drive. May you loose the unit by forgetting it or via robbery, the lost data usually weighs a lot more than the raw price of the unit. Now it is Corsair's turn to bring something new to the market; A padlock drive with Pin number protection. I like the concept but the idea alone can carry the product only so far. Let's find out how the Padlock fairs up. |
Padlock

Package itself offers little new. A typical pain-in-the--- package to open like with so many other computer related device packages these days. Feature that makes the unit so unique is printed very clearly on the retail package but there is nothing wrong with that. Capacity is indicated on the top right corner.

From inside we can find the usual items that are bundled with this kind of devices. A neck strap, USB Extension Cable and a printed quick start manual. But hey, what more would you like to get when shopping for this kind of storage device?
