Intro
As the Windows 7 and DX11 releases grow near, AMD has opened the game for the new generation of graphics cards, which support the new DX11
technology. Around a month ago, AMD released its first graphics cards, which are based on the new Evergreen-series core. The first cards, which
saw daylight, were the HD5870 and HD5850, which represent the high-end single-GPU cards from AMD at the moment. Both of those cards are based on
the Cypress core, which will in turn be used on the X2 version of the card later on this year.
|
After this high-end launch, AMD has released a new wave of products onto the markets, which are based on the Juniper-core. While being based
on the same basic design as the Cypress-cores, it is smaller and it doesn't pack as much of a punch as the bigger Cypress. However the smaller
size of the Juniper-core, will help keep the costs in check. This means that this product may become one of the hit products of the last quarter
of 2009.
While the HD58xx-series card may have a bit more kick to them, the HD5770 should be able to give the consumers good performance with a decent
price. To help us find out, HIS hooked us up with a HD5770.

Just like many other manufacturers, HIS uses smaller packages nowadays. This should keep the shipping costs of
the cards in order while also saving some trees.
Bundle

The bundle includes the mandatory adapteres, a quick-start-guide with the driver-CD and Crossfire-bridge. To top things off, a coupon for the
upcoming Colin McRae DIRT2 is included.
