Conclusion
![]() PROS CONS |
So there you have it. Nextherm ICS 8200 from Sytrin. Elegant looking, heavy and bit too noisy. Air-conditioning is an interesting feature and in our tests confirmed as a working technique to cool the whole system down. Because of the poor usability of the AirCon Control Panel and the amount of noise that the air-conditioning produces, one might need to concider if this feature offers enough pros to counter the cons. I've spotted a price of $360 for this case. For that price you get the enclosure, air-conditioning and a good quality power supply. For me, the price seems to be bit high. There are other steel cases that offer good EMI protection, more 3.5" drive slots and removable motherboard tray. Add a good quality power supply and you should still be under 200 dollars. How much you are willing to pay for the system wide air-conditioning? It is so easy to target all the bad things in this case. You have to remember that the case did do what it promised. You can fit all the components in that it claims to support. It did cool down the whole system to some degree. It does have a good PSU. As in many other reviews, the final decision has to made by the reader. Will the ICS 8200 suit your needs? Update 02.09.2005Sytrin contacted us with the information that they are now selling the case at the price of $299. From inside the package you will also find a 3.5" -> 5.25" drive mounting kit. It seems that at least someone is reading these reviews. :) |
