  • I've used to these more common 15" notebooks that weigh around 3 kilograms so this 2.1 kg unit is just excellent. 14" tft panel offer the same 1024x768 resolution as most of the 15" panels but when you need to carry that notebook around, you will start to appreciate that 1 kilogram that is reduced from the total weight. Smaller dimensions mean that you can use smaller carrying cases so this extra 1" on bigger models start to feel useless compared to the other benefits that 14" notebook brings.

For some reason there seems to be something worth investigating on stability. LG should really stress test some of its units to see how stable they really are. There is a possibility that our test unit was somehow defective. Office programs, movies and other everyday software worked great but benchmarking softwares like PCMark05 and 3DMark05 either crashed to notebook or just gave Windows errors.

With built-in WLAN this unit can really boost your productivity. Many work places, airports etc. offer free WLAN access so you can check your emails and update your reports while you are on the road. WPA/EAS makes the WLAN safer to use and password protection on the hard drive gives a sense of security if your notebook gets stolen or you misplace it. Too bad that Bluetooth is not included as GPRS via bluetooth enabled mobile phone would bring a lot of possibilities when travelling.

All in all, LM60 Express with suggested retail price around 1600 euros is a worthy notebook to replace that desktop computer you are currently using. Small size and light weight means that you can carry it with you easily. Processor power is there and amount of RAM is enough for everyday Windows XP use so take a look at what LG has to offer next time you are shopping for a new computer.
