The cooler is a top-down model with a single layer of closely spaced cooling fins. It uses the same 140 mm fans as the PH-TC14PE, so while it fits lower cases than the huge TC14PE, it still isn't small or compact by any means. Already without the top fan the cooler is 112 mm tall, and with the top fan installed the height rises up to 140 mm and you'll still need to keep in mind the space required for proper airflow.
The PH-TC14CS comes in five color options: red, orange, blue, white and now also black. Ours is of the blue variety and the color looks just as fresh as it did on the first cooler. Phanteks really deserves some credit for giving buyers the option to choose what color they want.
The copper base and the heat pipes are nickel plated and the finish is spot on. The mounting bracket with two spring-loaded screws is already in place.
If the heat sink looked familiar then it's because the design is exactly the same we saw in the original one, this time just one of the towers has been chopped off and the second one bent horizontal.
