IntroEarlier we've already seen the performance of USB3.0-connectivity on regular external 3,5" hard drives, but also 2,5" drives are widely used as external storage on the go. To find out how the new connection works with these smaller drives we got a Samsung M2 External USB3.0 500 GB drive for a review. |

- USB 3.0 (Max. 5Gbps) + USB 2.0 (Max. 480Mbps)

Being a 2,5" drive also the package is very compact and there's a window to show the drive inside. The specifications and package contents are also at show, so one knows what he's getting.
Looking at the specifications the drive indeed uses the USB3.0-connectivity, but is also downwards complatible with USB2.0. It comes in four different colors, so one can choose the preferred color or match it with the laptop or other peripheral. The warranty of this drive is three years.
Bundle

Inside the box there's nothing but the manual and a data cable 80 cm long with a Micro-USB3.0 connector at the end. Many of these 2,5" drives come with a protective pouch of some sort, but really that's rarely needed as the drive is most likely going to travel in a padded laptop bag anyway.
