A very popular benchmarking "suite" that includes nice features like weighed scores, File Copy and File Compression tests.
The "regular" test with sequential, 4k and 4k-64Thrd gave results that follow the trend set by the ATTO Benchmark. The ratios of the speed of the drives remain the same but the 4k-64Thrd test with the RAPID mode gave numbers that look nice with this kind of simulated data/test but that do not necessarily translate directly to the real life performance.
This test simulates a copying of different sized files. Profiles include an ISO file, a program and a game that would be copied around.
This test, while being a simulated one, gives the closest analog to a real-life situation. From here we can see that the 840 EVO wins clearly even without the help from the RAPID mode.
In this test the software creates a test pattern that includes files that have different levels of compressibility. The software measures the read and write speed with this mixed set of compressible and incompressible data.
Samsung 840 EVO (standard mode)
Seagate 2 TB HDD
Intel 520 120 GB
Samsung 840 EVO (RAPID mode)
Samsung 840 EVO in RAPID mode again gives the most interesting readings. Your mileage will vary but the test does indicate that the RAPID mode and the faster access via the system RAM offer a boost when handling this kind of data.
