While the enthusiasts often only look at the high-end products which are available, the budget- and low-end products are the ones, which really make the most profit for the companies. This is mainly, because they are sold in much larger quantities than the higher-end products. A clear example of this is the fact that Intel still dominates the graphics markets due to the fact that their IGP-solutions are so often used.

In addition to being the most used graphics solutions, the cheaper siblings of the high-end products also are on the forefront of technology, as newer technologies are easier to implement on simpler chips etc. Lowering the manufacturing costs is also one of the driving forces, why the new and improved technologies are used on these products.

While the graphics-solution in question today may not be the cheapest of the lot nor the most powerful one, it should pack one of the best performance/cost-ratios today. In addition to being a cost-effective solution for some sunday-gamers, this card is the first one to utilize the new RV740 chip, which is the only graphics chip at the moment which is produced with the new 40 nm process at TMSC.

Sapphire has kindly sent us their take on the HD4770, so we can see if this card really can deliver enough punch to drive the newest games.

The package continues with the same theme that Sapphire has taken with the last few cards we've seen. It has all of the basic information you'd expect from a package while not being ridiculously large.

Just like the package, the bundle really has nothing that special to offer. It has all the dongles and adapters, which we have gotten accustomed to lately. In addition to the dongles and adapters, Sapphire has thrown in PowerDVD and DVD-Suite from Cyberlink alongside with the driver-CD.
