IntroSilverstone is a manufacturer best known for cases, coolers and power supplies, and in the past they've indeed produced some of our favorite cases. Now they're expanding into new area of network storage, and we also got a sample of their new SST-DC01S Data Center. The device is a NAS/home server and on paper quite similar to some others we've reviewed in the past, so let's see how it copes with the competition. |

The DC01 comes packed in a compact box with a couple of photos of the device inside. The box also highlights all the features of the DC01 and the server functionalities it provides.
Looking at the specifications it's basically an ARM-powered PC fitted inside a small case. Unlike the earlier NAS-boxes we've reviewed, the DC01 is actually designed to fit a single 2,5" drive. This is of course not the optimal solution if you want the maximum amount of storage space, but it does mean the DC01 is very small and quiet. For external storage there are two USB 2-ports as well as a single eSATA-port.
Bundle

Inside the box are the device itself (ours is silver, but the DC01 also comes in black), a manual, network cable, power supply, screws for installing the hard drive and rubber pads to act as feet.
