Over the years we've tested quite few cases, but not many of them have been all aluminum. Now it's time to make up for the lack of aluminum cases and look at something from SilverStone. Their TJ07 gained somewhat legendary status within the enthusiasts for its outstanding build quality and roomy interior that made it a great choice for water cooling projects. Based on the design of the Temjin, SilverStone has also released a smaller case - the Fortress FT01. It uses the same unibody aluminum construction as well as the overall looks, but lets see if it can keep up SilverStone's reputation in top quality aluminum cases manufacturer.

The Fortress comes in a surprisingly huge box for a mid-tower case. There are photos of the case as well as all the specifications and features printed on the sides.

There are four versions of the Fortress; aluminum, black and windowed versions of both color choices. Ours is black and does not have the additional window. Other noteworthy things in the specifications are the two 180 mm intake fans, which we'll talk more about later on. At almost nine kilograms the case is pretty heavy for an all-aluminum mid tower.

SilverStone Fortress FT01 Review

The bundle is very limited and only features the most essential manual and a bag of screws. As the real extra SilverStone also threw in a single fan adapter in case your motherboard doesn't have enough headers for all the three case fans.
