IntroA while back we had Silverstone's Fortress FT01 for a review, and while I liked the case very much, it failed to score our EC-award due to some frustrating little flaws. Anyway recently Silverstone came up with second version of the Fortress, which of course got us interested. By the look of things, it's very much the same chassis as the Raven 2 reviewed earlier, but aimed at a bit different target audience. But without any further spoilers, lets dive straight in. |
Package & Specifications

The Fortress 2 came shipped in exactly the same size and shape box as the Raven 2, and also all the technical details are there, so everything is in order here.

From the specifications one can see that the cooling is exactly the same as in Raven. Anyway there are some differences as well, first and foremost being the aluminum uniframe around the chassis. Don't be fooled by the exterior, though, as it's still the same basic steel chassis, the case still weights at impressive 15 kilograms. The other note-worthy updates are the five 3,5" HDD-bays, and maybe a bit surprisingly one PCI-slot less.
