Intro

In our latest case review we took a close look at the SilverStone Fortress FT01 case, and liked it a lot. This time around, we have something totally different from the same manufacturer. SilverStone make a huge variety of HTPC-cases, ranging from the fairly simple cases all the way up to the all-aluminum models, complete with front-panel TFTs. From that variety of shapes and sizes, the newcomer of the Grandia Series, the GD03 made its way to our tests.

SilverStone Grandia GD03 HTPC Case Review

The GD03 case is a part of SilverStone's Grandia HTPC-range, and also the box likes to sit on its side. Again the pictures and specifications all over the box are plentiful, and the case inside comes well padded against any damage during transport.

The GD03 is mainly a steel case, but comes with a thick aluminum front bezel. This may also be the reason why - unlike usually - there's only black color version of the case. Out of the box the case comes with two 80 mm fans, but there's space for three optional ones as well.

Bundle

SilverStone Grandia GD03 HTPC Case Review

The DG03 doesn't have an LCD-screen or any other fancy media features, so also the bundle is very limited. Beside the essential manual and screw set there's just some odd looking screws for mounting the side fan, and a strip of thick double sided tape for mounting the aluminum front bezel to the optical drive.
