Intro
Targus is a well-known manufacturer of all things laptop and with their distribution network covering
145 countries you've most likely heard of them. The brand is probably best known for their laptop bags,
but the product range also covers mice, external drives and other peripherals. We haven't reviewed any of
their products before, but now they've come up with a new docking station that caught our attention.

Bundle & Specs

The docking station we received is the model ACP51USZ, and it arrived to our test packed in a white
cardboard box, so instead of having a look at the box lets have a look at what's inside instead. In the
middle there's the black dock itself, and on the left side of it are the power supply with two different
AC-plugs, an USB-cable and a driver CD. On the right side there are two extra rubber pads, a manual and
some warranty information.

The specifications cover all the connections we have got used to seeing in laptop docks. There's the
network connectivity, a graphic card and four powered USB-connections (two of which are special high
power connections). The clever thing here is that as the dock is connected via USB, instead of
proprietary docking connection, all of these features are fully independent and don't disable anything on
the laptop itself. This is particularly important with the graphic card, you really do get an extra
connector.
