The design continued

Original SideWinder mouse offered replaceable glide feet. No such thing with the X5 though. On the other hand, with the pace of new models that enter the market, I doubt that one can wear these feet off before the mouse itself will be replaced.

Lighting is the same from the previous SideWinder mouse. Two red leds at the back and a lit led on the button of the currently selected sensitity.
Software
The X5 came with the IntelliPoint 6.3. Latest version on the Microsoft's site at the time of writing this article was 6.2. 6.3 adds the new gaming mice to the mix and is thus required for maximum usability experience.

Only the Buttons and Sensitivity tabs will be different from the regular Windows Mouse Properties window. From the buttons tab one can bind different functions to the buttons that offer this possibility. In X5 these are the left and right buttons and the two side buttons. Scroll Wheel click can also be customized.

List of possible actions is long. Macros are also possible. The Macro Editor is the same as with the X6 Gaming Keyboard and we'll take a closer look at its functionality there.

Each of the three buttons can have their own sensitivity setting. From 200 DPI all the way up to 2000 DPI.
