The X6 with lights + special keys in detail

Far edge of the keyboard has some additional keys that you would not see on a regular keyboard. Starting from the left we first have a Quick Launch button for Microsoft Windows games menu. With Vista computer, it will popup a window that contains shortcuts to installed games on your computer. On XP machine it will bring up the settings menu for the keyboard.
Next we have a Cruice Control button. Just press and hold up to a four buttons on the keyboard and then press the Cruice Control key. After that you can lift your fingers from the keys and the Cruice Control will keep on sending the keypresses from those keys to the system. This until you click the Cruice Control again. Can't really think of any uses for this functions... can you? If you do, please, share them on article comments on the last page. Thanks.
Next we have an online macro recording button. This is a handy one as it allows one to bind keyboard macros to the macro keys during gaming etc. Just press this key, then the macro key you want to assign the macro to and then input the sequence you want to macro. End the recording by pressing the macro recording button again and you are done.
Mode Switching allows one to select from three different key and macro layouts. This is handy as you can bind different macros to the same key and separate them to different modes. In gaming mode you might have for example taunts assigned to different keys but when video edititing you may have copy&paste functions or audio level controls at the same keys.

Next we have the multimedia keys. Play/pause, previous track, next track and mute.
The black dials next are for back light brightness and volume adjustment. Brightness dial moves around 240 degrees but the volume dial rotates the full 360 degrees. Lights can be turned all the way off if needed.

Column of six macro keys next to the tab, caps lock etc. can have dual purposes. This 1|2 button switches between the operating modes.

Numpad keys have a dual function too. One can see the labels starting with the letter S, indicating a macro capable key. By placing these on the left side of the X6, one gets a lot of more functionality near the WASD gaming keys.

One neat addition is that the numpad changes color when a gaming mode is activated. Red for "normal" mode and amber for gaming. This is a clear indication that the macros are set and ready for the next gaming session.
