GD04 - Installation

The power supply as well as the motherboard were easy enough to install as there's absolutely nothing in the case that would come into way. Here one can see how the layout is not optimal for the graphic card used. The Gainward 8800GT has a single axial fan in the middle of the cooler and here it ends up sucking warm air from the power supply. A more common cooler design with a radial fan at the end of the card would work better.

The drives were a bit tougher to get in place, but only the real problem was making sure the cables don't end up in the CPU fan, badly in the way of the airflow or in the way of the drive mounts. Most of the excess power supply cables were tucked in the space above the PSU, so they wouldn't block the airflow from the left side panel fan. Overall the installation was pretty easy and for such a small case almost surprisingly straight forward.

With the DVD-drive installed, there's not much room for the CPU cooler. If you don't install a 5,25" drive you can just leave the whole bracket away and have plenty of room for the CPU-cooler. This, though, would leave you with a nasty gap on the front panel as the aluminum bezel is mounted to the tray of the optical drive.
