There are a couple of things in SketchUp that make building and managing models that much easier. One of these things is the use of components. These not only make editing easier, but also save you from many other headaches along the road.
When planning mods to an existing case or making a case design from scratch you always want to get the dimensions right. Making all the parts from scratch may be rewarding for some, but at least I want to have my parts pre-made and just concentrate in the build itself. Luckily for me then, there are online component collections from where one can download components made by other SketchUp users.
The best site for computer-modders must be Jez McKean's Component Collection: http://scc.jezmckean.com/
But especially for peripherals and less computer-related stuff you may also get lucky at Google's own 3D warehouse: http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/
Next we have couple of tutorial videos about the Google Sketchup Components. Where to find them and how to use them in your own modding related sketches.
Where and how

These were our first tutorial videos for Google Sketchup. You want to see more? You have a problem in Sketchup you need to get solved? Just post your ideas and questions on to the comments below and we'll see what we can include to the future videos. Thanks.
