DFI Lanparty KT400A Update |
Reason
We received updated performance BIOS from DFI after our DFI Lanparty KT400A review. I tested this new BIOS and because performance gain seemed to be extraordinary we decided to publish updated graphs. So here they are.

On graphs there are Asus A7N8X(nForce2) and P4P800(P4 i865PE) as references. Unfortunately A7N8X and LANParty KT400A results are driven on different CPUs because of BIOS failure on A7N8X before I managed to finish all the tests. I would have driven KT400A results on 12.5X multiplier but it didn't work either so we have to get along what we have.
Results marked as "Updated BIOS" are driven with new BIOS. Performance gain is easy to determine as I included also old results.

WinRAR 3.10

CDex 1.50

PCMark2002

SiSoft Sandra 2003

Superpi 8M

Unreal Tournament 2003

3DMark2001SE

Quake III Arena
I have no idea how new BIOS is able to increase performance so much. Async mode is now little slower than sync-mode as it is with NF2 too. Generally KT400A is now easily comparable to NF2 regarding to performance. Very well done DFI!
