Booths
Jimm's PC-Store
Jimms PC-Store was one of the two retailers that were present with booths at the party. In addition to selling computer hardware, they hosted Team Finland who worked on beating their own world record in 3DMark06 and together
with Asus, they had come up with a nice small compo with two gaming laptops that Asus had on display. The compo was simply a 1on1 CS:S tournament on aim_map. The thing that actually made the whole compo interesting and fun, was the
fact that the competitors had to use the touchpad on the laptop instead of a separate mouse.
The guys at Jimms Pc-Store also had dragged along two setups to show off at the party. The first one was an Intel Skulltrail setup with Tri-SLI. They actually were going to demo Nvidias new 3D-goggle technology, but they ran into some technical difficulties so they didn't get the system to run. The other setup had some new AMD hardware inside, as the Sniper-case had a Phenom II X3 processor which was overclocked to 4GHz on air.
They had also somehow gotten some new Logitech products with them to the party that still have not hit the markets. The G19 keyboard and G13 "gamepad" were on display with the Skulltrail setup. Unfortunately they wouldn't let me take either of them with me.
Team Finland was working on their new record run when I arrived at the scene. Sampsa Kurri, Petri "SF3D" Korhonen with the help of Sami "macci" Mäkinen from AMD were running an AMD Phenom II X4 with two AMD HD4870X2s, all of which were cooled with the help of liquid nitrogen. After struggling for a while, they managed to squeeze in front of their old high score, thus making the new world record live at Assembly09 Winter.

Puolenkuun Pelit
Puolenkuun Pelit was the other retailer at the party, and they provided games and Jolt-cola to the gaming crowd. Jolt-cola seemed to have been at hit, as just about everybody that walked out of the store had a Jolt-can with them.
Puolenkuun Pelit also had setup two computers running Crysis and COD4 so that players could try out the TN Games Gaming Vests that simulate bullets and blasts hitting you while gaming. For example if you get hit in the back by bullets you feel the vest punching you in the back. I really was sceptical at first of the whole concept, but after trying them on for a while, they seemed like something that may have some appeal to the gamer crowd. TN Games is even bringing out a matching helmet that will apparently pound your head when you get hit. Puolenkuun Pelit is apparently thinking about starting to import the TN Games products to Finland, so if you're interested they are the ones to ask for them.

Others
There were some other booths as well, as the crew from the web-flick Iron Sky had their own stand where you could play Guitar Hero with them. There was actually another stand that featured Guitar Hero as well. There a band took the Guinness World Records for playing nonstop for the longest time and the highest score in a single song with the whole band.
Kajaani Polytechnical was nicely present at the party, promoing their studyline which is concentrated on game development.
