This is the space that should house a bit thicker BL-6C battery. And yes, I have a 256 MB memory card to hold all the "useless" data like MP3s and Movies. :)

Back cover

On 6600 there is one thing that you can do to make more room for BL-6C. There is a foam pad on the inside of the back cover that you need to remove. This is needed with BL-5C to keep the battery from moving around too much when you move the phone but BL-6Cs increased size makes the pad useless.

Pad removed

I used a sharp knife to carve away the pad. The glue used to attach the pad to the cover was quite strong so you may not get the pad out as cleanly as you would hope for but as this side is not going to be visible when you assemble the phone again, it should not matter too much.
