Leadtek WinFast PX 7600GT TDH Extreme

Leadtek's card was packed to a black and blue box when it arrived to our tests. The box is again very informative yet the cyborg girl is trying to steal the attention from the specs. Opening the box reveals bundle similar to the Palit's one, this time there is General Guide to WinFast-Graphics series, a quick installation guide, games Trackmania Nations and Serious Sam, Bonus Software CD containing PowerDVD and Orb, a driver CD, a DVI-VGA-adapter and a component + S-video output cable.

Most of the card is hidden under a large heat sink. Leadtek adverts a exclusive board design, practically this seems to mean that the same board is used for some faster models too. There's a place for an auxiliary power connection in the up right corner which isn't needed with GF7600GT. Connections include two DVIs and a video-out for S-video and component video output.

After finally finding a screwdriver that was proper sized for the Leadtek's four very tight fixing screws, I got to remove the cooler. A proper mounting is needed when the cooler is 100% copper and weights much more than the aluminum ones. The fan is a 65 mm one and partly hidden under the shroud. There are also holes in the copper base to let some airflow run under the cooler. It is worth to note that while the memory chips are placed under the cooler, they do not actually touch the base of the cooler.

Removing the cooler revealed the memory chips. I was pretty surprised when I found out that they are identical with the ones on Palit (1,2 ns Samsung chips). The memories in 7600GT TDH Extreme are set to run at 1,6 GHz (DDR) which sets hopes even higher that the Palit's memories have some overclocking potential in them.
