Sample images

I won't offer you tons of sample images. Reason for this is our limited bandwidth and the fact that by focusing on couple of images from different lighting etc. situations, it is easier to highlight some of the problem areas. Fall is pushing in here in Finland so I wasn't able to take any bright daylight images but I would believe that 5330z may have slight tendency to over exposure the images. Easy to correct with aperture and white balance settings but still worth mentioning.

10 cent coin with flash

I was amazed how well the flash functioned with macro mode. Good, even lighting around the object. Good news for example to collectors who would like to inventory their small objects.

Nokia 7600 cell phone

I took this image through a glass window. Ambient light wasn't that bright but the image turned out ok even without tripod.

VIA VT1211 Super I/O Controller

With macro mode one can take photographs that have interesting properties. Here you can see a good example how you can get only certain part of the image in focus while surrounding areas are blurred. Good way on highlighting details on an object.

Flower

Want to take images of your garden? What about a single flower?

Nokia 3330

I just love the macro in this camera. Just press one button to switch in the macro and you are ready to get really close to the target.

Small spider

This spider is around 1 cm long. I took the image while I was visiting a playground with my daughter. It was relative sunny day and the spider was taking a sun bath at a birch trunk. You can even spot the small black eyes. A lot of details but colors are bit off.

Sara at buss stop

Again, the colors are bit dull but still salvageable with photo editing software.

Two birches twisting

Maybe a bit artistic approach but the image shows that 5330z can also give you good colors without the need of retouching.

Metering in different lighting situations

With flash

Flash range is good. Objects are around 3 meters away from the camera lens and receive good lighting. Image is very sharp, focused correctly even while there isn't assistant lamp for the focus in the camera and have reasonable low amount of noise.

Normal room lighting

With automatic white balance turned on, camera produced bit yellowish result. Again something easy to correct with image editing software or by forcing white balance to fluorescent mode.

1.5 second shutter speed

In low light situations you can either use flash or alter shutter speed with shutter priority mode. I took this image with 1.5 second shutter speed to compensate the lack of ambient lighting.

2.0 second shutter speed

Same situation but with 2.0 second shutter speed. Image is brighter but noise is beginning to make the image useless. Still a good photo to show how you can play with the full manual modes that this camera offers.

Hilighted colors

I mentioned that it is easy to correct or alter the colors in a photograph. This sample image was loaded with Adobe Photoshop and retouched with Hue and Saturation sliders to brighten up the colors a bit.
