Obsidian 800D - External views

Off the box and the case is truly enormous. The overall theme is very clean and simple, with the only really eye-popping feature being the large window on the left side panel. The case is mainly steel, and weights roughly a ton, but the front panel is made from thick aluminum. From this shot one can see that the colors of the two materials aren't a perfect match, but in normal lighting it's hard to tell the difference.
Aside the large window there aren't any ventilation holes or other special features on the side panel. Also to keep up with the clean and stylish design the window is mounted from the rear side so that there aren't any visible screws on the outside.

The very simple and stylish aluminum front panel appears to have six 5,25. drive bays, but actually the top-most is reserved for the power- and reset buttons and the front panel connections. Under this there are five normal 5,25. drive bays, and then yet another hatch covering four hot-swap HDD bays. On the bottom there's a corsair logo.
The front bezel can be just pulled off, which reveals the hot-swap drive bays, as well as the more standard hard drive bays at the bottom of the front panel.

The front panel connections are hidden behind a nice little hatch right next to the power button and the white power led. The connections include four USBs, one Firewire and the usual audio jacks.Unfortunately no e-SATA here. Behind the hatch is also a small reset button.

The door covers the four hot-swap drive bays of the case. As a nice little design feature, one can very easily change the door from one side to another. The installation isn't actually tool-free as the drive has to be screwed into the hot-swap sledge, but other than that the installation works very smoothly.
