BIOS

I had few problems with original BIOS when I received Infinity 875, but all my problems go away after I flashed new BIOS dated 2003/11/21. DFI uses Phoenix - AwardBIOS with normal blue/yellow colour configuration.

Genie BIOS Settings

Genie Bios settings consist of voltage and CPU/DRAM settings. All most important overclocking settings are present.

Voltage Control

FSB is fully adjustable between up to 400Mhz, which should be enough. CPU voltage can be adjusted up to 1.975V, Dimm voltage is adjustable up to 2.9V and AGP/chipset voltage up to 1.8V. Highest CPU voltage is more than enough but not adjustable below default voltage, which isn't so marvellous. It is nice to see that highest Vdimm is as high as 2.9V although serious overclockers most likely look for something like 3.2V. AGP/chipset voltage is also adjustable and although its effect on AGP is minimal it surely helps to overclock your i875P chipset higher. Very nice options here.

Advanced Chipset Features

Memory frequency & System Bandwidth

Advanced Chipset Features provides us memory latency and speed settings. You can choose from various presets System Bandwidth setting or set your own. Memory dividers are also adjustable from here and you can choose between DDR400 (1:1), DDR320 (5:4) or DDR266 (3:2).

PC Health Status

PC Health Status doesn't show dimm voltage but other voltages are on view. CPU temperature reading isn't accurate but if you add to it something like 20C, it gives you good estimate of actual CPU temp.

Special features

CMOS Reloaded is one of the most interesting features of Infinity 875 motherboard. CMOS reloaded actually means that you are able to save your bios settings for future use. There is totally four save slots for different BIOS settings. So if you have to clear CMOS, you don't have to set every setting separately backwards but only load your saved configuration from backup. This is just what many overclockers have been waiting for. DFI should be proud of such invention.

There is actually many other uses for CMOS Reloaded than just overclocking. You can easily for example save different system configurations for different operating systems and so on. Following picture shows CMOS Reloaded screen on BIOS.

CMOS Reloaded

As in whole BIOS is easy to use and navigate. All settings also worked, even AGP/PCI/SATA Clock, which haven't worked on every other i865PE/i875P motherboard that I have tested.
