Overclocking

It seems like DFI Infinity 875 is made for overclockers so I of course overclocked it a bit. Results were very good. Motherboard didn't have any problems to achieve 300MHz FSB and my test processor seemed to overclock better on this DFI than any other motherboard I have tested so far.

I also drove few benchmarks and DFI Infinity 875 won every benchmark against Asus P4P800 when memory dividers were on use. Unlike i865PE motherboards i875P motherboards utilizes PAT even when dividers are in use and Infinity 875 wasn't an exception. I strongly recommend i875P based motherboard if you are going to overclock your system.

So what do I think of DFI Infinity 875 as an overclocking motherboard? Answer is simple; I'm going to put this motherboard right to my OC rig. It is clearly the fastest and most overclockable overclocking platform that I have tested so far. Only thing that I have to do is get more dimm voltage out of it, but that is an another story.

DFI Infinity 875

  • MetkuMods Editor's Choice

I have to say that when I first received this motherboard I wasn't very impressed. However when I got it up to running, new BIOS in and tested it a little bit, it turned out to be very good motherboard. New inventions like CMOS Reloaded and rock solid design raise it above many other a little faster motherboards. Performance difference isn't so big, only two or three percents and that is something you won't ever actually notice.

This crimson red motherboard has also very nice feature set including Intel 82547EI network controller, C-Media 5.1 audio solution and HPT 372N IDE RAID controller. I only missed few additional SATA ports. Infinity 875 has also one of the best layouts I have ever seen and even overclocking settings are very comprehensive. It is definitely one of the most balanced motherboard available.

Last time I gave Editor's choice to a motherboard I gave it to Asus P4P800. I have used that motherboard since then and now I'm going to change this DFI to it's place. DFI Infinity 875 has better feature set, it's faster when overclocked and it has been packed full of great innovations like EZ Touch and CMOS Reloaded. So it is quite natural to give Editor's choice award to it.
