The mouse

Logitech G3

The top part of the mouse is finished pretty nicely and has a wave pattern. The bottom part is roughed to prevent slipping during game sessions. The area between the bottom and top parts is normal smooth black plastic and so are the two main buttons. Between and behind the two main buttons there's this mouse's only special button which is used to change the mouse movement sensitivity between the range of 400 and 2000 DPIs.

Pads

The base of the mouse hides no surprises such as adjustable weights that we have seen for example in G5 and G7. Instead there are just three relatively large PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethlylene (Teflon)) slide pads and the Gaming-Grade Laser sensor capable of 2000 DPI resolution.

Here's the G3 compared to Logitech MX610 and Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer 2. From the side view the differences in height are clearly visible. Partly because being the only wired mouse from these the G3 is clearly the smallest and especially compared to the Intellimouse it feels very low. In the front view the differences in designs are even more clearly shown. The G3 being the only of these mice ment for both left- and right handed users, it really differes from the others.
