Using

G3
It's hard to review a mouse as it comes down to "feel" rather than cold facts if the mouse is a good one or not. I tested the G3 with playing Call of Duty 2 on my Ulti-mat Breathe Mousepad. Compared to the wireless MX610, the G3 moves very effortlessly and smoothly thanks to its light weight. For a left hander, getting used to the right side button takes some time but after a while I started to find it pretty easily. Unfortunately I can't say the same of the sensitivity-changing special button. Using it without lifting the whole hand from the mouse requires some finger acrobatics and during playing it's pretty hard make quick changes to the sensitivity. Even though getting used to it was pretty difficult, I found it very useful when using different kind of weapons. As a conclusion of the gaming with the G3, I'd say that the laser sensor might help you hit bit better in certain conditions but it won't teach you how to play better and most certainly won't do the aiming for you.
Conclusion
PROS CONS |
The Logitech G3 proved to be a good gaming mouse with no fancy special properties. Personally I still prefer wireless mouses but there was definitely nothing wrong with this one either. When it comes to mouses I'd call myself a normal user and to be honest I didn't find this one at all more accurate than my old warhorse Intellimouse. But if you are really into gaming, you might find the extra sensitivity useful. |
