HD160 with its best friend, an AV Amplifier. Sizes and styles are pretty much the same with the depth being bit different. You should check the depth of your rack before buying a case this deep.
Working
I must admit the two Zalman fans are virtually silent at 5V and as they also move lots of air, relatively quiet at full speed. Thanks to the vibration killers there is no noticeable resonances in this case. The PSU setup also allows the PSU to maintain its low RPM - and noise. With a passive CPU cooler this setup would be outstandingly quiet. Case fans and ventilation holes are seemingly well placed as the HDD stays under 40 degrees even without the optional fan. All together the noise level and temperatures are very good.

I don't actually have anything bad to say about this case but I have to mention the lack of instructions. The looks are outstanding and internal design is as good as it gets, fans are silent and HDDs have vibration insulation. I can really recommend this case to everyone about to buy a HTPC case. As the remote and the display is clearly ment to be used with MCE, it would have been interesting to see how they work with it. I got them to work pretty satisfyingly with normal XP so buying a MCE is not a neccessity. Even HD160 has no major innovations compared to the competition, its overall quality and appearance earned it an EC-award |
