Conclusion
HIS Excalibur RADEON 9600 XT Turbo
PROS CONS
"Best Value for Money" Award |
To tell you the truth, I wasn't expecting the results that were this great. When you remember that this card costs around 150-160 euros you can't go wrong with it. The bundle feels really great. Inclusion of SVideo to SVideo cable and DVI adapter makes it very usefull for a lot of users and gives that "something little" that makes the product to stand out from others. I was amazed how cool the card is to touch. I believe that many SFF owners could find this card usable inside those small systems where heat and noise are constant enemies. HIS 9600 XT Turbo doesn't need any external power connectors thus making it even more attractive towards SFF markets. I've used this card for few weeks now and replaced my old 9700 pro. While the benchmarks showed that this card is slower than 9700 pro I haven't noticed this to be as dramatic in real life gaming. Desert Combat runs the same as before and because the fan in this card is a lot silent, the overall experience when gaming is more positive. If you are after a budget card that can keep you gaming long in the future, this might be the one for you. It is quite hard to predict what the gaming market will become and how complex games it will produce but with the DX9 support this card is ready for it. |
