The thing itself

Looking at the stick while inside the packaging, you could get the impression of a cheap bootleg version of something better. It's very plain, just a black block with a red label, some white text with a boring font and an activity led. When turned around, you have a white area which might be reserved for writing a name or description for it, more text with boring font certificate labels and the mandatory "Made in China". It measures 83.5 mm × 21.5 mm × 12 mm with the cap and 60.4 mm × 18.6 mm × 11 mm without.

Using it

I guess this is what makes it "Sport": The cap. The cap goes around the whole stick, and you fasten it somewhat like an elastic band - giving it the impression of withstanding water and dirt and at the same time having the cap safely attached. I'm just not sure if it really has been an issue with memory sticks anyways. It's a bit tricky to get the cap off (you have to pull, push and slide in one movement), but replacing it is very easy. The cap material is soft plastic but it feels like it can withstand it's share of wear and tear. I was inclined testing how waterproof the stick is by dipping it into the sink, but I wasn't ready to take the chance.

The stick's plastic is tough and doesn't yield when pressed, although the seams gave a slight plastic squeak but the build overall feels sturdy. I would've liked to give this a more throughout testing, but I have the feeling it would survive being dropped/thrown off my balcony, so, being lazy and all, I don't want to bother trying. Anyhow, the material is something that can be expected to endure your everyday rattle and shake (and probably a whole bit more).
