The G700 is a very curvy mouse and while the design is unlike in any other Logitech mouse, you can still recognize the general shape. The scroll wheel is of the metal variety that comes with the mode switching button and tilt feature, and it's instantly obvious there are plenty of extra keys.
Looking from the rear one can better see the materials used. The top part is made from smooth plastic and the sides have coarse finish for better grip. There's a support for thumb to rest on and four thumb buttons.
In front of the said thumb buttons there are three leds that are used for showing the DPI-setting, the profile and also the battery level. These are lit up in either red, green or amber, depending on what they are currently indicating. To make tweaking settings straight forward, all the buttons are numbered.
