Intro
Keyboards and mice seem to have reached the level, where it's hard to develop anything new or better. Still there are new models coming up every now and then. We take optical mice and wireless keyboards for granted, but remember how things were 10 years ago: white, clicky square keyboards and maybe no mouse at all. Proportioned to this, it's interesting to think how todays pointing devices feel after 10 years. Microsoft Wireless Laser Desktop 6000 looks like it has all the state of the art technology in one package. Wireless operation and laser accuracy spiced up with good ergonomics, but does it offer any new, own ideas?

Once opened, the package reveals a receiver, batteries, driver-cd and a manual. I really like that Microsoft has included batteries with this product, so there is no need for additional shopping before trying it out. First eyecatcher is the leather-like surface of the wrist support, it makes an impression of high quality. Only time will tell how long the leather lasts in beatiful condition under heavy use. Wired transmitter unit has numlock and capslock leds, to save battery of the keyboard itself.
