Profile
The looks of the Silverstone NT02 is stunning and quite similar to Coolermaster Hyper 6, which was reviewed in Metku.net earlier. Seems like Silverstone has used a lot of time in designing this product because it looks just awesome to be just a cooler. On the top we have the shimmering Nitrogon and the small white silverstone logos. These will propably look very nice and representative especially when using a computer case with windowed side panel.
- Mounting support: P4 Socket 478, LGA775, AMD Socket 754, 939, 940
- Weight: 880 g
- Dimensions: 88 mm (W) x 114 mm (H) x 71 mm (D)

Heatpipes
Removal of the black fan shroud reveals a large number of thin copper plates, which in fact are the cooling elements. The more surface area you can get, the faster the heat is being transferred into air. In this case: from the processor to the air around the cooler and hopefully outside the computer case.
To boost the thermal conductivity even further, NT02 has three heatpipes, which spread the heat from base towards the top part of the cooler. This way the surface area, provided by the thin copper thermal elements, is being used in most effective manner. Also take note that the heatpipes used in this cooler differ from the more conventional ones. Instead of using some liquid, the NT02 heatpipes use sintered powder to transfer the heat inside the pipes. According to the manufacturer, this is more effective but expensive technique. Powder allows the heatpipes to operate with optimum efficiency regardless of the direction of the installation.
