Fortress FT02 - inside

Inside is more of the same, but the hard drive cage has fortunately been totally re-made. This time there are five sledges similar to the ones seen in the original Fortress. These slide straight out and will make installing and changing hard drives much easier. Only one of the five bays also comes with a rear plane, and additional hot-swap connectors can be purchased separately if needed.

Mounting hard drives into the FT02 is just like in the original Fortress (Fortress FT01 Review), the hard drive is screwed in place with four long screws, and then the sledge is inserted into the cage. These sledges are very restrictive to the airflow, so it's probably a good idea to pull away the un-used sledges for better HDD-cooling.

With the cable management and other details of the installation identical to the Raven 2, lets just skip straight to the ready build. The hard drive installation this time was very straight forward, just mount the disc to the sledge and slide it in place. After using both methods, this is so much better than the Raven's cage.
