SilverStone Sugo GD05 Mini-ITX Case Review

After you empty the whole box, you'll find the case itself, the power-cable for the PSU, four rubber feet, a mini-IDE adapter, an assembly guide, and the usual bag of screws for the assembly. Now that we've gotten the stuff out of the box, we can see what the contents actually have to offer.

Now that the case is out of the box, we can take a closer look on the features that SilverStone has packed into such a small space. The front of the case is dominated, by the large grill which hides the only 120 mm fan that the case has. The only other fan included is housed in the PSU. In addition to the front grill, the front has the basic USB-ports, headphone and microphone jacks, the reset and power buttons, and finally the front face of the slim-CD/DVD drive slot. Nothing out of the ordinary here.

Here we have a closer look of the USB-ports and audio-jacks, which can be found from the front facia of the case.

Moving onto the rear of the case, we can see the large ventilation grill on the side panel, designed to provide cooler air for the CPU-area. The back of the case unsurprisingly has the PSU, and the needed holes for the IO-area of the motherboard and two slots for the graphics-card.

The expansion-slot are a bit different from the ones we've gotten accustomed to with other cases. Here the small slabs of the expansion cards actually come out of the back of the case, where they are secured with a small angled piece. This should keep the cards nice and secure.

In addition to the expansion-area of the case, we can spot the ventilation holes which are placed on the roof of the case as well as the left side panel. For some reason the holes on the top are somewhat indented. I couldn't figure out why this was done, but I'm sure that the engineers at SilverStone have had some reason for this. The ventilation hole which is placed on the side of the case covers just about the whole side. This should keep the graphics card nice and cool, as it can suck fresh air from outside of the case.
