Using the ThermoHawk

Checking the temperature of X800XT memory chip
Measurement is triggered by pressing the gray button next to the display. It takes only half a second to get a reading. By keeping the button pressed down, ThermoHawk keeps updating the reading constantly, once every half a second. After releasing the button, ThermoHawk will shut down after 15 seconds to save the batteries.
All results measured were within the accuracy of +/- 2.5°C as stated in the specifications. This was confirmed by a wide array of themometers like multifunctional 5.25" bay module with thermal probes, motherboard's thermal sensors and digital and analog household thermometers.
Conclusion
PROS CONS
"Editor's Choice" Award |
I find ThermoHawk very easy and convenient to use. Because of small size and included keychain clip it can be carried everywhere with ease. Check out the temperature of swimming water, temperature of your go cart tyres or engine block or see if the power supply of the computer is heating up. Truly an all-in-one solution as long as the metering range is right for the job. With ThermoHawk 400's range of -33°C up to 220°C (-27°F to 428°F), most of your everyday temperature measuring needs should be easily covered. Price of about $80 might be a bit high for some but if you are in a need for touchless thermometer that is easy to carry around, there is no need to look any further. Solidly built and good looking product that does what it's supposed to do. |
