Thermaltake Armor A90 - Gaming case with eye-catching details

Across the board the temperature readings are fine. Considering it's summer and the ambient temperature is at 26 C, especially the idle temperatures are great. The loaded temperatures aren't bad either.

Noise

The specified noise levels for the fans (16 dB for the 120 mm and 15 dB for 200 mm) seemed suspiciously low, but while they probably aren't true, I have to say the stock fans are very quiet. The combination of blue leds and rugged gaming looks and quiet fans seems strange, but then again also the Xigmatek Midgard surprised us in the same manner. So then, if you like your computer quiet, there's no need to swap the Thermaltake fans for anything else. What you might however want to do is silence the hard drives somehow, as the quick locks just don't work well enough in keeping the drive tightly in place.

Conclusion

PROS
  • Quiet fans
  • Light weight

  • CONS
  • Loose quick locks on drive bays
  • Leds can't be turned off
  • CPU cooler mounting hole isn't big enough
  • Award
    Silver Award!

After all the testing the verdict seems to be that the Thermaltake Armor A90 is a good case, but just not good enough to really stand out in the very crowded market of gaming cases. If you like the outlooks, there's really no reason why not to buy the Armor A90. The biggest downfall of the case are the rather loose quick locks on the drive bays, I'd much rather have some Antec 300-esque thumb screws for mounting the hard drives.
