EZPass 3

Ezpass 3 looks like a regular Nintendo DS game card. Same dimensions but totally different function from the game card.

The unit sits nicely inside the Slot 1. Again, the same way as regular Nintendo DS game card would. Difference here is that the only function of the EZPass is to fool the console to think that you are only booting up a regular NDS game. In reality it only transfers the control to the Media adapter located in the Slot 2. Nothing more.

When booting up the NDS, user has to choose either to load a regular GBA game / go to Media adapter's GBA game menu or boot via the EZPass device and get a Media adapter's NDS menu.

Similar operation can be achieved by flashing the firmware of the NDS with a custom piece of code. FlashMe is one such code project. These days there are Media adapters that can boot up from the Slot 1 and do not need any additional cards or code to operate.
