SuomeksiThe Stand
A display needs a stand. The custom stand I had made for the TFT display during the Spire mod, wouldn´t do because it wouldn´t be able to support the added weight of the computer. A new stand was needed.
I cut four identical pieces out of 2 mm aluminum, and bolted them together for sanding.
On the corner is the marking for the slot in which the case will be attached.
Assembled
Two of the four pieces are bolted together creating a stiff construction. The paired "legs" are then attached together with two hinges.
Testing
The original plan was to use a 6 mm bolt for the attachement on the stand. I later changed this for an aluminium L-profile for rigidity.
Behind
The stand will have tilt control on the top via a bolt and a wing nut. More of this later. Here the bare case is held in place by the speaker's wires. :)
Painted
I chose to paint the stand with black metallic spraypaint. For protecting the wooden table I added rubber strips. Time for some plexy and leds.
