In Use
The Imperator was tested in some intensive FPS-gaming as well as careful photoshopping, and it did very well on both areas. I'm a pretty high sensitivity player and rarely need to move the mouse around the pad too much, and the Imperator sure fit this style. It's also very light weight and has good slide pads at the bottom, so it moves very, very smoothly.
I also like the rubber coated wheel a lot, it's got small steps and acts accurately and quietly. Unfortunately I found the shiny sides to be a bit uncomfortable in long use. The rougher surface on top of the mouse is nice also in longer gaming sessions, but the sides get rather slippery.
Conclusion
The Imperator sure is a good addition to Razer's line of quality gaming equipment. The build quality is top notch, even if the material choice for the sides could have been better. The software is straight fortward to use, and making macros couldn't be easier. Also the individual settings for X- and Y axis sensitivity, with just 100 DPI intervals, is all fine and good. It's hard to say anything about the shape of the mouse, as that comes down to personal favors, but the moveable thumb keys are sure to help no matter how you like to grip the mouse. |
