IntroLast time we heard from NZXT was when the NZXT Rogue arrived to our test. It was a micro-ATX case mainly meant for gamers and featured a large amount of 120 mm fans for great airflow. Now the same US-based manufacturer has come up with a new model - Tempest - which they advertise to be the new airflow king. Unlike the Rogue, Tempest is a more traditional mid-tower case that also supports E-ATX motherboards. |
NZXT Tempest
The Tempest was delivered to our tests in a pretty bruised retail packet that has large images and specifications printed all over it. The main theme on the marketing speech seems to be superior airflow and judging by the specifications, this side of things should really be under control. At least so far NZXT only offers black version with blue fans of the Tempest so we'll have to wait and see if they also come up with a version to have red led fans and lights.

Straight out of the box the large window on the left side panel catches one's eye and there's also a 120 mm clear led fan attached to the acryl on the window. This fan is only one of the four 120 mm fans on the case - we'll see later on how the rest of the fans are located. The top- and front panels are fitted with plastic covers that help give the case a bit more shape. The so called front panel connectors are located to the roof, so the case is clearly meant to be located on the floor rather than on the table.
